Allergy, Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology
Allergy and Immunology is based in the division of Clinical Immunology, Allergy and Rheumatology at the Department of Pediatrics.
The training is conducted primarily at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM), the largest and only freestanding hospital in the state, dedicated exclusively to the treatment of children.
In addition, fellows take part in the adult continuity clinics, offer inpatient consultation services in the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) network, thus providing exposure to both adult and pediatric allergic and immunologic disorders. A few unique features of our program include a high risk asthma population, primary immunodeficiency clinics and HIV pediatric and adolescent clinics.
The program offers a 2-year fellowship, resulting in eligibility for the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. Our program currently supports one to two fellows per year and is open to candidates trained in either pediatrics or internal medicine.
