Emergency Medicine

The care providers within Pediatric Emergency Services are proud of its history of excellence in clinical care, research, education, and advocacy – the cornerstones of our mission.

We are the only American College of Surgeons Level One Trauma Center in Michigan which is specifically devoted to the care of children.

Our division has continued to produce and present abstracts and papers in a variety of journals, as well as lead in the area of regional pediatric emergency education for continuing education, as well as fellowship training, resident education, and medical student education within our department.

We offer annual courses like the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), and the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (APLS) course, as well as participate in regional and local educational endeavors for all levels of health professionals.

In collaboration with our excellent pediatric emergency nurses and allied staff, we have dedicated thousands of hours to community efforts in elementary schools, public event planning, regional disaster management, emergency medical services, and immunization programs.
